WHAT IS PANKO?
Panko crumbs originate from Japan and are made from crust less white bread that is processed into flakes and then dried. Because of this, Panko has a flakier consistency than regular breadcrumbs, and as a result they absorb less oil. The flakes of panko tend to be larger, giving you a different texture to regular golden crumbs.
Panko produces lighter and crunchier tasting fried food!
IS IT HEALTHIER?
Panko is lower in calories, fat, and sodium than regular breadcrumbs. This makes it a great healthier alternative to normal bread crumbs.
