Meet The Team
Jimmy is the Managing Director of Amity Fish Company. Having lived in Peterhead all his life, Jimmy knows a thing or two about fish - he has 40 years’ fishing experience, and 30 years’ experience as a skipper! He left school in 1976 to pursue a career as a fisherman and in 1986 Jimmy bought his first trawler, named ‘Amity’, which means friendship. Since then he has adapted and changed to meet the challenges and opportunities of the industry. In 2006 Jimmy and his crew starred in the BAFTA award-winning BBC TV programme ‘Trawlermen’, which showcased the challenges experienced within the fishing industry. After three decades in the wheelhouse, Jimmy came onshore and set up his own seafood supply company and continues to manage both business to business and business to consumer trade. Jimmy always keeps himself (a bit too) busy, working both behind the scenes of Amity Fish Co as well as interacting with customers and attending events all over the UK. He is an excellent ambassador for the sector and continues to promote the seafood industry both at sea and onshore.

Orla is Amity’s part time Office Admin Assistant. She is currently in her last year of secondary school and will soon be off to University to study Biomedical Sciences. Orla’s role within Amity Fish Co has provided her with plenty of experience as well as teaching her what it’s like to run an ever-growing business.
