We often tend to pair wines with seafood but the right cocktail combo can elevate your fish dish to new levels.
No prawn cocktails here… top mixologist (thats a cocktail wizard to you and me), Terrence from Boozy Events has given us some great guidelines for adding a little glamour to your seafood as well as his own delicious cocktail recipe…

So What Works?
“The addition of acid in alcoholic beverages is what will bring out the big flavours in seafood,” says Terrence.
“Using the combination of grapefruit, lime and passionfruit creates a forward-leading citrus feel while staying clear of the old, rusty and boring seafood cocktails.”
“You’ll find Passionfruit in the ‘Pornstar Martini‘, voted as the UK’s Number One cocktail last year, but we love creating our own signature recipes too using bold and trendy flavours.”

And what about the Classics?
Terrence’s advice is not to forget about the huge variety of classic drinks out there that inspire his work.
“A certain amount of acid is needed to bring out the bold, beautiful flavours of seafood. Therefore, cocktails made with tomato, lemon, and lime juices are ideal. Think how these flavors make you feel. They’re cool and refreshing which play into the summertime theme. They give off a light vibe, one that doesn’t mask the tastes you should be enjoying when you have fresh fish and lobster.”

Havanother

- 50ml Bacardi Blanca
- 25ml Aperol
- Half Grapefruit
- Half Lime
- Half Passion Fruit
- Bar Spoon Marmalade
- 15ml Passion Syrup
- Shaken & Strained then topped with Tonic Water

The Stiff Sailor

- 2.5 Shots Ketel One Vodka
- 1/4 Shot Martini Extra Dry Vermouth
- 1/4 Shot Fino Sherry
- 1/6 Shot Caperberry Brine
- Lemon Zest
