Amity Fish Co Produce Shortlisted for National Retail Awards
The Peterhead Seafood Supplier’s Peeled Langoustine revealed as finalist
One hundred and forty outstanding Scottish food and drink products have made it onto the shortlist for the Scottish Retail Food & Drink Awards 2022 (SRFDA). The products represent a broad selection of food and drink categories and have been chosen by more than 50 experienced, expert judges after more than four weeks of intense judging.
SRFDA Director Antony Begley shared: “With entries up over 30% on last year, we knew that the judging would be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, but I think it’s fair to say that our judges thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had the opportunity to try so many exciting products.”
Reflecting on being shortlisted, Amity Managing Director Jimmy Buchan expressed his delight at the nomination, adding: “Langoustine is one of Scotland’s most valuable seafood products. To have the peeled Langoustine shortlisted is exciting for Amity but also a great step in retaining the value of this product here in Scotland.”
“Our aim was always to have more people eating and enjoying peeled Langoustine tails. Another wild-caught product made in Scottish seas for all to enjoy and one of my personal favourites.”
Amity’s nomination follows a successful start to 2022 as they took home the Digital/E-commerce Business of the Year at the Scottish FSB Awards in March and have since been named finalists for Made In Scotland’s Food & Drink Business of the Year.
The Scottish Food and Drink Retail Awards will take place on May 31st at The Corinthian in Glasgow. You can view the full shortlist here.
