The Peterhead seafood supplier puts Haddock in the spotlight as the world’s eyes fall on Glasgow for COP26
Amity Fish Company have shared their pride at involvement in COP26, serving up haddock to visitors from around the globe.
The award-winning Scottish seafood supplier, based in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, has topped of a successful year of collaborations by becoming an official seafood supplier of COP26 and providing sustainably sourced Scottish haddock, pre breaded haddock and langoustine for the event.
Amity were given the opportunity to supply COP due to their status as an approved supplier with ESS/Compass Group, meaning they had the necessary accreditation and traceability in place. The mission was to supply delicious MSC certified haddock and langoustines to the event which saw more than 190 world leaders, their representatives, negotiators, businesses and other delegates come together for global talks to address the global emergency of climate change.
Amity Managing Director Jimmy Buchan expressed his delight at Amity’s selection as a chosen supplier, saying: “The opportunity to showcase Scottish seafood at this global event was testament to the hard work of the team. Their dedication in ensuring we were able to supply the amounts required from approved fisheries on time was key to the success of the event”.
The MSC certified Scottish haddock was shipped to Glasgow by Amity before being turned into hugely popular fish suppers at the event by Calum Richardson and his team of the famous Bay Fish and Chips Stonehaven, also an approved supplier (and long-time customer of Amity). It was estimated around 11,000 fish suppers were served to hungry visitors during the event by The Bay team, with many orders coming from global leaders to sample the UK delicacy.
It was said following the end of COP that the fish and chip dish was the most popular among visitors excluding plant-based options.

Alongside the haddock supplies, Scottish langoustine was also provided by Amity for the event for fine dining provided during the conference.
Amity’s role at COP26 caps off another successful year for Amity following a Great Taste Star award for their exclusive Panko Single Wholetail Scampi product.
